Starting a CBD Business
For anyone looking at starting a CBD business in the UK, there are a few things you need to know:
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) have recently brought in new rules regarding the sales of CBD. All CBD products are now classed as "Novel Foods" (click link for more information). This means that they were not on sale or being consumed in the EU before 15th May 1997.
Because of this ruling, the FSA also stated that any products being sold in the UK, must have gone through rigorous testing (including human trials, toxicology examination etc), and be submitted for approval on the FSA "Novel Food" register.
Finally, the FSA also states that only products on sale before Feb 2020 can remain on the UK market until they are awarded "Novel Food" approval. This now makes it very difficult for new CBD businesses to start as they couldn't possibly have been on sale before this date. Many new CBD businesses are being closed down by local Trading Standards.
This may well all change in the near future but as of May 2021, this is the current ruling regarding starting a new CBD business.
This said, there is always the option to start a CBD company selling products like ours that are either approved or awaiting approval from the FSA.
CBD Wholesale
At CBD-UK we understand that starting a business is hard enough and that is why we offer small order quantities for new companies to try and help them grow.
We too started just like you and know how hard it is to have to lay-out large amounts of money on stock. Any new start-up companies struggling to lay-out for stock may find drop ship is a better option (see below). With Wholesale CBD, all products are sent branded by CBD-UK.
Drop Ship
Drop Ship CBD is a great way for new start-up companies to get in to the CBD market with very little outlay.
With Drop Ship, the company just lists our products on their website but without having to physically purchase any stock. When a customer buys one of our products from the Drop Ship company's website, the Drop Ship company then logs on to our website using their Drop Ship log-on, purchases the item his/her customer has just bought (at our reduced Drop Ship rate) and CBD-UK then send out the item(s) in plain packaging as if it came from the Drop Ship company direct.
White Label (currently unavailable)
White Label is where we supply you with all our high-quality products but unbranded for you to label and sell as your own brand. This is a great way for more established sellers to grow their own brand and also to even resell our products on to other sellers.
