Immunity Support Dog Treats are liver-flavoured soft chews formulated to help keep your dog's natural defences, muscle and vitality in good order every day. Each chew delivers 330mg Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a nutritional yeast rich in beta-glucans, 200mg HMB to support lean muscle, and 40mg valerian extract to help a dog stay settled, because stress is one of the biggest drains on immune health. 60 chews per tub, suitable for all breeds from 12 weeks of age. Contains no CBD, hemp or THC.

At a glance

  • 330mg Saccharomyces cerevisiae per chew: a beta-glucan-rich yeast that supports normal immune function and gut health
  • 200mg HMB per chew to help maintain lean muscle in active and senior dogs
  • 40mg valerian extract to support a settled dog, since stress and immunity are closely linked
  • Three actives with amounts stated on the label, not a "proprietary blend"
  • For dogs that pick up every bug, are slow to bounce back, or are entering their senior years
  • Liver-flavoured soft chews dogs take as a treat
  • Suitable for all breeds and sizes over 12 weeks; 60 chews per tub
  • No CBD, hemp or THC, so it can be given alongside any other supplement

HighV Immunity Support Dog Treats, 60 liver-flavoured immune support soft chews for dogs

Why your dog's immune system needs daily support

A dog's immune system is working every hour of the day: dealing with whatever they sniffed, licked or rolled in on the walk, repairing the wear and tear of exercise, and keeping the trillions of microbes in the gut in balance. Most of the time it manages quietly. The strain shows when a dog is run down, stressed, ageing or recovering, which is when they start picking up minor infections, taking longer to shake off a bug, or losing condition and muscle.

Diet, rest and routine do most of the work. A daily immune support chew adds the specific nutrients that help the immune system, the gut and the muscles hold up under pressure, so your dog stays resilient rather than needing to recover.

How Immunity Support Dog Treats work

Immunity is not one thing, so this chew doesn't rely on one ingredient. Around 70% of the immune system sits in and around the gut, which is why the main active is a nutritional yeast whose cell walls are rich in beta-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides, compounds the immune system recognises and responds to, and which support a healthy gut lining. Muscle is the body's protein reserve and the first thing lost when a dog is unwell or ageing, so HMB is included to help preserve it. And because a stressed dog is a less resilient dog, a modest amount of valerian helps take the edge off everyday stress.

Support the gut, protect the muscle, lower the stress. That's the formula, and every amount is printed on the tub.

Active ingredients (per chew)

Saccharomyces cerevisiae, 330mg

Better known as brewer's or baker's yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae is one of the most studied nutritional ingredients in animal feed. Its cell wall is a natural source of beta-1,3/1,6-glucans and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS). Beta-glucans support the normal activity of immune cells; MOS binds unwanted bacteria in the gut and supports the lining of the intestine. It's also naturally rich in B vitamins, which matter for energy and coat. This is the same class of ingredient premium "postbiotic" immune supplements are built on, at a meaningful amount.

HMB (calcium salt of 3-hydroxy-3-methylbutyric acid), 200mg

HMB is a compound the body makes in small amounts from the amino acid leucine. It helps slow the breakdown of muscle protein and supports the building of new muscle, which is why it's widely used in human sports and healthy-ageing nutrition. In dogs it supports lean muscle in seniors, working and sporting dogs, and any dog recovering condition. Because it's supplied as a calcium salt, the chew is also a modest source of calcium.

Valerian extract, 40mg

Valerian is the calming botanical with the longest record of traditional use in dogs. It's in an immunity formula for a good reason: ongoing stress raises cortisol, and cortisol suppresses immune function. A settled dog is a more resilient dog. At 40mg it supports calm without any drowsiness.

The chew base is made from wholesome ingredients including linseed for omega-3s, coconut oil, beet pulp and brewer's yeast, with rosemary extract and tocopherols as natural preservatives. No artificial colours or preservatives.

Signs your dog may benefit

  • Picks up minor infections, ear or skin flare-ups more often than other dogs
  • Takes a long time to bounce back after a bug, a vaccination or a busy weekend
  • Senior dog losing muscle over the back and hindquarters
  • Working, sporting or very active dog under regular physical strain
  • Rescue dog, or a dog recovering condition after a poor start
  • Dull coat, low energy or a dog that seems "off" without an obvious cause
  • Stressed by changes in routine, kennels, travel or being left

If your dog has recurrent infections, unexplained weight loss or is on treatment that affects the immune system, talk to your vet first. These chews support a healthy dog; they don't treat illness.

What to expect, and when

Immune support is a slow, cumulative benefit rather than something you see on day one.

  • Weeks 1 to 2: your dog settles into the daily chew. Nothing dramatic should happen; a small number of dogs have slightly softer stools while the extra yeast and fibre bed in.
  • Weeks 3 to 6: owners commonly report better energy, a glossier coat and a dog that seems steadier under stress.
  • Two months and beyond: the resilience benefits show over a season, in a dog that stays well through winter, kennels or a hard working period, and in seniors holding their muscle and condition.

Feed every day rather than only when your dog seems run down, and judge them after six to eight weeks.

Suitability and safety

HighV Immunity Support Dog Treats are suitable for all breeds and sizes from 12 weeks of age. They contain no CBD, hemp, THC, artificial colours or artificial preservatives, and can be fed alongside other supplements, including our other HighV chews and CBD pet products. Valerian is not recommended for pregnant or nursing dogs. If your dog has a diagnosed medical condition, a yeast sensitivity, or is on prescription medication, particularly anything affecting the immune system, check with your vet before adding any supplement. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Always check the "Best Before End" date on the label. For animal use only. This item is not a CBD product.

Complete the routine

Because so much of immunity starts in the gut, Probiotic Dog Treats are the natural partner: the probiotic tops up the good bacteria and the yeast in this chew supports the gut lining they live on. Mushroom Powder for Dogs adds nine functional mushroom extracts for broader immune support in food rather than as a treat. 8-in-1 Dog Treats cover everyday vitamins and minerals. If you are looking specifically for CBD for your dog, see our Salmon CBD Oil. Browse the full HighV Pet Range.

Frequently asked questions

Do HighV Immunity Support Dog Treats contain CBD?

No. They contain no CBD, hemp or THC. The actives are Saccharomyces cerevisiae, HMB and valerian extract. We sell them alongside our CBD pet range because many owners use both, but they are separate products and can be used together or on their own.

What do immune support treats actually do for dogs?

They supply nutrients that help the immune system, gut and muscles work normally: beta-glucans and MOS from yeast for immune and gut support, HMB to preserve lean muscle, and valerian to reduce the immune drain of everyday stress. They're a daily maintenance supplement, not a treatment for infection or illness.

What are beta-glucans?

Beta-glucans are complex fibres found in the cell walls of yeast, mushrooms and some grains. The immune system recognises them and responds by keeping its cells primed, which is why yeast-derived beta-glucans are one of the most widely used natural immune-support ingredients in animal nutrition.

Why is there valerian in an immunity product?

Because stress suppresses immunity. Ongoing stress raises cortisol, which dampens the immune response, so a dog that lives on edge is more likely to get run down. A modest amount of valerian supports a calmer baseline. It won't make your dog drowsy at 40mg; for a dedicated calming product see Calm & Relax Dog Treats.

What is HMB and is it safe for dogs?

HMB is a natural compound the body produces from the amino acid leucine, used for decades in human sports and healthy-ageing nutrition to help preserve muscle. It's well tolerated in dogs and is particularly useful for seniors losing muscle and for working or sporting dogs under physical strain.

Can I give them to my puppy?

From 12 weeks of age. Puppies under 10kg need one chew a day. Adjust as they grow using the feeding guide. Vaccination, good food and rest matter more than any supplement at this age, but the chews can support a puppy through the busy first months.

Are they suitable for senior dogs?

Senior dogs are the group that benefits most. Immune function and muscle mass both decline with age, and this chew supports both. If your older dog is on long-term medication, mention the supplement at their next vet check.

How long do they take to work?

Allow six to eight weeks of daily feeding before judging. Immune and muscle support builds gradually, and the benefit depends on consistency.

Can I give them with other supplements or medication?

They can be given alongside other supplements, including our other HighV chews and CBD oil. If your dog is on prescription medication, especially immunosuppressants, steroids or sedatives, or is due an anaesthetic, check with your vet first.

Are there any side effects?

These chews are very well tolerated. Occasionally a dog has slightly softer stools in the first few days as they adjust, which settles on its own. Dogs with a known yeast sensitivity should avoid them. Stop and contact your vet if you notice anything that concerns you.

My dog has a yeast problem. Is Saccharomyces cerevisiae a concern?

The yeast overgrowth seen in itchy ears and skin folds is Malassezia, a completely different organism. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a nutritional yeast that doesn't colonise the skin. That said, a small number of dogs are sensitive to dietary yeast, so if your dog has a diagnosed yeast allergy, check with your vet first.

Will these help my dog's allergies or itchy skin?

They support normal immune function, and some owners of allergy-prone dogs find a well-supported immune system is less reactive. They are not a treatment for allergies. For skin and coat specifically, see Skin & Coat Dog Treats, and speak to your vet about persistent itching.

How long does one tub last?

Each tub contains 60 soft chews: two months for a dog under 10kg, one month for a dog of 10 to 30kg, and around three weeks for a dog over 30kg.

Why are the ingredient amounts listed when other brands don't?

Because you can't compare products, or judge whether a dose is meaningful, without them. Many immune chews list a "proprietary blend" with percentages or no amounts at all. HighV states every active per chew so you know exactly what your dog is getting.

Everyday resilience, one chew a day

Dogs that stay well, hold their condition and bounce back quickly don't get there by luck. HighV Immunity Support Dog Treats give the gut, the muscles and the nervous system the daily support they need, from three actives you can see on the label, in a liver-flavoured chew your dog will ask for. Add a tub to your basket and give your dog's defences a head start.
