The most researched joint nutrient in dogs. Glucosamine is a natural building block of cartilage and of the joint fluid that lubricates and cushions the joint. Daily glucosamine supports the body's own cartilage maintenance. At 200mg per chew, the feeding guide delivers around 20mg per kilogram of body weight, which is in line with the level commonly used for dogs.
MSM (methylsulfonylmethane), 200mg
An organic form of sulphur, one of the most abundant minerals in the body and a structural component of cartilage, tendons and ligaments. MSM is widely used to support joint comfort and flexibility in active and older dogs, and it works alongside glucosamine rather than duplicating it.
Vitamin C, 140mg
Dogs make their own vitamin C, but demand rises with age, stress and hard exercise. Vitamin C is required for collagen synthesis, so without it the collagen in this chew, and the collagen the body makes itself, can't be built into tissue. It's also an antioxidant that helps protect joint tissue from everyday wear.
Bovine collagen, 100mg
Collagen is the main structural protein in cartilage, ligaments and tendons. Supplementing it supplies the amino acids (glycine, proline and hydroxyproline) that connective tissue is made from, supporting joint stability and the resilience of the tissues around the joint.
Chondroitin sulphate, 35mg
Chondroitin gives cartilage its ability to hold water, which is what lets it absorb shock. It is usually paired with glucosamine because the two support different parts of the same cartilage structure.
Vitamin E, 2mg
A fat-soluble antioxidant that protects cell membranes, including those in joint and muscle tissue, from oxidative stress during exercise and ageing.

When should I start my dog on a joint supplement?
Earlier than most people think. Large and giant breeds, sporting dogs and breeds prone to hip or elbow problems are often started from around a year old, before any stiffness shows, because supplements protect existing cartilage rather than replacing what's gone. For any other dog, the first signs of slowing down are the cue.
Can I give them to my puppy?

Joint supplements are very well tolerated. Occasionally a dog has slightly softer stools in the first few days as they adjust, which settles on its own; splitting the daily amount between two meals helps. Stop and contact your vet if you notice anything that concerns you.
What happens if my dog eats too many?
